personal stories wedding planning

Long distance wedding planning & wedding hair styles to consider.

Contracts have been signed, we are having a wedding in 2013. It’s only 3 years belated but now we have two beautiful little girls to share the day with. Spur of the moment we decided to have a wedding with our tax return money, nothing more. Could it be done?

Apparently, our desired venue has NO events booked the month we want to wed and they offered a nice discount to us for booking last minute, so we are committing to make this wedding happen in just a few months!

We’ve been designing the invites, talking colors, guests and all the other stuff that comes with planning a wedding. Luckily, I already have my wedding dress and I lucked out stumbling upon a perfect pair of wedding shoes a few weeks back. However, I’ve been at a loss as to what I will do with my hair…

I’ve been watching videos and pinning different styles I like. The thought of doing my hair for a big event has me anxious. My hair has been in a messy bun for like 3 years straight now because I just don’t have time to stand in front of the mirror applying product and straightening my hair just for it to get yanked on and gunked up with drool, snot and kids food from my two young girls. Plus, I don’t want my girls see me spending hours on my appearance because I don’t want them to feel they need to do the same…

Problem is, I get super frustrated with my hair whenever I do try “fixing” it for a date or whatever. This frustration just further discourages me from making an effort with my hair. I mean, if I spend lots of time on it, it does look nice. Most times it’s just not work the trouble though.

My wedding day will be another story. I want something practical done to my hair that will last the whole event, but I want it to look pretty at the same time. Some of my hair ideas are:

I like how the braid looks but worry how a course, thick braid will feel over my shoulder for 8+ hours. Plus, will something loose even stay in my hair? I have doubts and just can decide on a style right now.

Regardless of chosen hairstyle, I plan to ease myself into doing my hair again. To start off small and to limit my initial frustration levels with hair styling. I’m going to try out simple hair styles here at home.

The first one I am trying out us this dressed up pony brought to you by the Oil of Olay Sweepstakes  just watch the video and enter to win at the end of it:
