Felt good to be adjusted and all put back in place. Here’s hoping all stays that way for the delivery. With chiropractic care labor and delivery are supposed to be quicker and easier. Yesterdays adjustment was my last before heading off to The Farm.

Before I head off I’ve been sure to write many advance posts and get them all scheduled here to tide you over while we all wait to meet Tater. I’ll also be live blogging via text message (and twitter) while I am at The Farm and through labor/ delivery if conditions permit (subscribe and follow me so you don’t miss a thing).

I’ve also documented all the baby stuff you all have sent and I’ve got many belly shots that will be showcased here via slideshow and whatnot while I am away. Some will even be guest posting here too. So, rest assured you’ll have something to sink your teeth in to while I am having Tater. And now here are some belly shots for you.

Tomorrow I am 38 weeks pregnant and ready to blow any second. Being at this stage of the pregnancy totally makes me appreciate and understand why so many ladies agree to labor induction. I mean this is crazy uncomfortable (even more so that all the previous 35 weeks combined) and when you’ve got a doc that wants to get things going via induction it just means that your discomfort and anxiety can end sooner. What is not to like about that?

No, I am not hoping for an induction though. Just saying I totally get it now, if that makes sense.

I never thought that I would miss being able to clip my own toe nails, reach my calves to shave them or be able to sit with my knees together. Now that I am pregnant I do really miss being able to do these things and I am realizing how much I took my mobility for granted.

Simple things like sitting down and getting up are a huge struggle. Trying to put on underwear or pants on often requires leaning on walls or raising the legs up along the side of the belly (as opposed to lifting them straight in front of you). Bending over requires the legs to be spread and sometimes you even need to bend the knees a tad so you don’t pass out or so you can actually reach what you are trying to retrieve.

Shoot, now that Tater is urinating about 1 pint a day I am even finding myself strategizing my bathroom trips as they have increased in frequency while my ability to get around has decreased. “Is this an effective time to visit the bathroom? Is my bladder sufficiently full or will it be a wasted trip that only results in having to repeat it again in 5 min?”

I wish my bed had those “oh shit” handles that are in cars so I could hoist myself up with my upper body as opposed to wriggling and rolling myself on to my feet. Also need the “oh shit” handles in the bathtub, on the side of the couch and possibly an “oh shit” bar near the toilet. Sad, but oh so true.

Also, when the phone rings I kind of panic. You see the machine picks up after 4 rings and now it takes me about 2 rings to get up and moving towards the ringing. If god forbid the phone isn’t in the place I thought it would be chances are I’ll miss picking up the phone before the machine does. And everyone ALWAYS hangs up on the machine so my efforts are usually wasted anyway.

Oh and you know how girls are supposed to wipe from front to back? How the hell do you do that when you’ve got the preggo belly in the way? Are my arms unusually short or something because I can’t reach anymore! LOL.

This last weekend 90% of the people around me were blatantly staring at me and it wasn’t because I had a booger on my face or a shit stain on the pants! They would just stare at my body all perplexed like. “What nobody’s seen a petite pregnant lady before?” One woman even *gasp* touched my belly and I about freaked.

N was perusing the freezer case while she got all mushy and weird on me. He was chuckling and watching out of the corner of his eye while she put her hand on my belly and remarked at how I am “all baby” and when am I due… I must have oozed of “get the fuck off me” because she only touched me for a second with her two fingers then immediately backed off (thank goodness).

I assured her I had gained sufficient weight both in my hips, belly and boobs since becoming pregnant (join the pool and wager your best guess on my gained weight, time is running out!) while I gradually backed away from her “personal bubble” invading and made my way over to N for some backup.

Once she was gone we had a good laugh about the ackward situation. We also blatently stared back at everyone in the stores to make them equally uncomfortable.

Ahh, the joys of pregnancy are great aren’t they? Actually, they pretty much make you feel like a freak. A magical, human incubating, freak. Can you tell I am not feeling the “earth mama” beauty these days?

Today I’ve discovered a benefit to having a round pregnant belly that sits just below your boobs. It makes wearing strapless bras a breeze!

I mean seriously, before pregnancy when I would wear a strapless bra I would be wrestling with the girls and constantly pulling the bra back up. Didn’t matter if I was wearing a cheapo Hanes bra or an expensive Victoria’s Secret beauty… My strapless bras would never stay put under my boobs. Major pain in the ass folks!

When ever a strapless bra was needed this mean boob wrangling was in order the entire day. Reach in, pull the bra back up under your boobs. Reposition the girls so they look perky and so on…

Well today while testing out a new, summer maternity top I grabbed a strapless bra from the drawer. Sure it was one I wore before my boobs grew 1 cup size so the girls were oozing out all over the top of the bra but it was doable for a short jaunt out to the chiropractor and such. I mean nipples were covered so that was the main thing right?

So I strapped the girls in to the bra and got all dressed. Hours later, we are talking 6 hours to be exact, I’ve realized that the bra has not shifted and I’ve not had to reposition the girls once!

Now clearly my bra has stayed in place only because I am carrying Tater so darn high. I mean the girls are always sitting right on the top of my belly so how could a strapless bra possibly move beyond the canyon created by my boobs and belly? See said canyon below:

Oh and the chiropractor was all chatting us up about the pregnancy and the boob growth today. Do you think it is because I’ve got porn star boobs these days? Now that I’ve snapped a photo of myself I am like, wow. Those look a bit full and pushed up now don’t they? Great, N let me go out looking like a cheap pregnant hooker. Nice!

I’ve got a prenatal appointment with the OBGYN next week and I am sure she’ll make a comment about the lack of weight gain this month but N and I aren’t worried. According to all our reading Tater is just starting another growth spurt so I’ll probably pack on several more pounds shortly.

It seems my weight gain is not really a gradual thing, I pack on a good amount one month which puts me over what is deemed normal then the next month I stall out and don’t gain much… It is hit or miss really. Good news is I am still eating like a mad woman and I’ve put on 20 pounds since becoming pregnant, I think gaining another 20-30 pounds in 3 months is not going to be a problem.

This morning I was happy to see it was again a warmer day and we were able to open up all the windows and enjoy the fresh breeze. We are fresh air and sunlight people. We love our windows to be open so winter is sometimes a downer for us, especially when we don’t get enough pretty snow.

The morning email checking was nice with the cool breeze blowing through the house. Andrew one of our cats climbed in to my lap and took a nap as soon as I got up. These days all the pets have been less interested in hanging out with me, probably because they sense Tater is coming. So it was nice that Andrew came to see me today.

N snapped a photo of the love fest on my lap so everyone could see how the belly is looking…

It is kind of funny how Tater responds to the cats purring. She can totally hear them and she will kick when ever they are purring near my belly.

I told N she is either going to be super soothed by the purring when she’s born or she’ll go crazy wanting to play with them when they purr. What do you think?
