]]>Remember how I was working with a few different colorguard/ winterguard units back in Flagstaff, AZ that we had to leave behind when we moved all the way to Indiana? Well I always knew something else would come along for me at the right time. We just weren’t really sure when that right time would be.
I had a few local contacts in Indiana and some possibilities to consider before making the big move but ultimately decided to wait on making any commitments until we were in our new city and settled. Offers came and went, possibilities were still out there but after becoming pregnant I just stopped pushing so hard to find a new school to work with.
Gotta take life as it comes and prioritize things right? We tried so hard and waited so long to get pregnant. Holding off on getting another teaching gig wasn’t a big deal to me now that I was expecting. Besides I can’t imagine having to choreograph and teach while pregnant. Talk about exhausting!
So, I’ve rested and Tater has grown. Very soon we’ll be new parents and we can’t wait. We aren’t sure how we’ll adjust or how difficult it will be but we are ready to make the best of it. We welcome the life change with open arms!
Just this last month I’ve been starting to miss teaching and being active though. I thought I should put the feelers out there again since one school year is coming to an end and another is just about to start. Sure I am pregnant and ready to pop but what is the harm in putting the feelers out?
Well I got 2 bites and just committed to a group for the 2009-2010 school year. It all worked out perfectly and sort of seems like it was always meant to be. I am very excited and super pleased.
Obviously I have caring for Tater as my first priority but I am also going to squeeze in a few 3 hour rehersals per week with my new group for the sake of my own sanity and happiness. Yay, I’ll be teaching and being active again.
And with my extra income I’ll build up my cloth diaper stash for Tater. Love it!

]]>In other news I am on day 2 of counting calories and things are still the same weight wise. I am even trying to limit the amount of dancing I do in class so that my chances of keeping some of the calories.
Oh, my male finch got his head stuck in the bottom grate of his cage this morning. He was trying to get something down there, put his head through the bars and then got it stuck. He was making all sorts of commotion and it was very traumatic. After some maneuvering he was free an we were all shook up a bit.
N got a very aggressive recruitment packet from Eugene, OR yesterday after he sent his resume and tape to them. He is playing phone tag with the station manager now but it looks like a promising situation. He also did his phone interview with the station in Tri-cities, Washington.. the salary was low, that wasn’t a good match. However, they asked if thy could pass his info on to a station in Chattanooga, Tennessee.. We are also entertaining an offer from TX so the interest is still growing and we still have options.
I am making more progress with my MacBook and my other apple products. Yesterday someone helped me get my new IPOD working! Well, that is all to report today! How are you guys doing? Is it warm in your neck of the woods today?

This is a chatty post and it reminded me of the award Teeni just gave me! It is the Good blog chat award! Basically it is an award for those blogs that make you feel as if you were sitting down for a coffee and a chat. This is a fun award I am proud to have and I want to pass it on to a few fellow bloggers:
Janelle over @ http://www.junkfood4thesoul.com/ has a chatty blog I enjoy! She is so causal, fun and laid back on her blog and she always has fun videos and entertainment stuff over there. I always fill up a cup of coffee and head over to read her posts, it is like we are chatting face to face!
Veronica over @ http://somedaywewillsleep.com is the other recipient of this award because we are CONNECTED through similar experiences. As I was reading her blog about how her period is making an appearance I got mine- Yep right here sitting on the couch writing this blog! We are two pissed off lades trying to get pregnant, but things aren’t going our way!

]]>N will be home tonight just in time to be around for my doctors appointment tomorrow. I just need to stay busy today and keep my mind off of the what ifs.
Now, for a different topic-
How do you counter the tendency to be overly determined with too much work ethic? My students need to have fun in this last week of their performance season but they are too serious and I am trying to break the “work, work, work” cycle so they will have fun while practicing.
It is kind of odd to have a group of high school girls who work too hard but I do. All the judges this weekend said they needed to enjoy their performance and just have fun with it at this point. They look to serious.
Any ideas or suggestions?

]]>Today I have after school practice with my winterguard students, during the practice we are heading over to the local charter school to do a dress rehearsal for their talent show (that we are performing in on friday). One of my students actually attends the charter school for her academic classes and then takes one class a day (mine) at the public high school since they don’t offer a winterguard group at the charter school.
Anyway, we are doing the talent show on friday after today’s regular rehearsal and the talent show dress rehearsal. We have a “pre-championships” show 200 miles away on Saturday, then the students have prom that eveing.
I am supposed to get my period on Monday and if I don’t then it is home pregnancy test time. On Wednesday I have my well woman exam (If I am not on my period) so I’ll have pregnancy answers! The following Saturday my students have the last show of the season- championships, they are going to rock! After that it is smooth sailing!
Oh, guess who finished her taxes yesterday and is so relieved to have them out of the way? ME! And… I worked on updating my blogroll to include YOU! If you aren’t on there and you want to be let me know!
