I just read about the Transform Your Home promotion today and immediately thought of my mother and Jerry because my mom is ALWAYS talking about her kitchen floor!
Jerry is a real estate agent/ expert remodeler here in Arizona who is my mothers partner/ mate. They bought an older home out in New River, that has quite a bit of land and is in the heart of the Arizona desert which they adore.
They bought the home with the intention of fixing it up but life happens and often gets in the way of your plans. This is the case with their home so when I heard of the promotion that awards one grand prize winner with a home makeover valued at $20,000.00 I knew I had to spread the word to all my home owning blog buddies and my mom!
Eligible contest submissions must include:
- an uploaded video or a photo and essay
- an explanation and demonstration on why your home needs a makeover
- an explanation how Renuzit TriScents can help you renovate your home
I know my mom would love a stylish new kitchen floor, some new cabinets, counter tops and perhaps some more storage space in her kitchen. Classic oak floors and counter tops would look so nice. Also, soothing painted walls in neutral colors like cocoa brown and a neutral cream, would visually compliment the aromas of freshly brewed coffee that often fill her kitchen. If they won this contest the comforting aroma of her kitchen would finally be complimented visually! She would be stoked!
If you want to transform your home consider entering the contest but be sure to follow the official rules and lets us know you entered so we can vote for ya!
Wow, your description made me all happy and now I’m gonna go brew a pot of coffee! I hope your mom wins! I redid my kitchen a year ago, and I have to say–the feeling of my entire home and the happiness it gives me are so amazing I can’t even describe it. My friends come into my house and say the whole house feels so much happier and full of energy.
p.s. I’ve been meaning to ask you about tulips. I got 3 potted tulips for my birthday, they are finished blooming and the leaves are turning yellowish. Can I plant them in the ground yet? Or should I keep the bulbs in cold storage until fall? I hate to let the bulbs die… if that’s possible. Thanks!

Hyphen Mama » What kind of tulips do you have? Tulips need a chilling period before they will bloom again. Do you live in an area the freezes? Do you get snow and frost? If so it is best to plant the tulips outdoors, allow the leaves to die back on their own, apply some bone meal fertilizer and they should return next spring for you.
If your area doesn’t get cold enough to chill the bulbs properly over winter you will need to artificially chill them.
Thanks Talina! I live in zone 5… plenty of cold and frost in the winter. I’ll get them in the ground soon, so they won’t die.

Hyphen Mama » I am also in zone 5 (5b to be exact) we have some many tulips coming up right now it’s not even funny! Consider mulching them well during their first winer… Mulch will keep them warmer and will provide a nice barrier for them from the ice and snow.. I use smashed leaves and wood chips.
