Animals & Pets personal stories

July is a busy month!

Things are getting quite busy for us here! This month we are moving into a new place, I will begin the new school year with my colorguard students, I am working an auxiliary camp this week at NAU and our anniversary is this Friday!

I have been working to revamp the appearance of my website Custom Gifts by Talina using cascading style sheets (CSS). CSS is pretty interesting and really opens many doors but it is something new to me so naturally it is pretty hard to learn at first. If you are wondering what CSS is you should check out this CSS info. I like CSS because it eliminates the need for tables and lengthy HTML, it allows you to style and entire website with one document and it makes changing font color, size, images etc. very easy and less overwhelming.

In addition to working on my website I have also been working pretty hard to get my home packed up! We are making the move to a town home on July 30th… One day before I begin the school year with my colorguard students!! We are moving in a single day because of time constraints and lease terms. Our new place is being cleaned and serviced the day we move in so naturally we will have soggy carpets and chaos… 🙂

This week I was asked to be a staff member at the upcoming NAU auxiliary camp. This is something new and challenging that I am looking forward to taking on. The camp lasts four days and we are just teaching colorguard basics and a routine to those who signed up. It will be a good learning experience for me!!

Oh, last week I was working on an article for the magazine Mother Earth News. They called for submissions and were offering to pay $250 to the person they choose to publish. Obviously I wrote a piece and sent it in for possible publication! I am anxious to see if they will want to publish me or not!!

The baby birds are growing so much that they look uncomfortably crammed into their nest now!! Pretty soon they will start to leave the nest.. I have a little humming bird that comes by several times a day to drink from my feeder. My lilies are blooming out on my patio and it is an overcast, somewhat cool day. It would be nice to get some rain!
