The quest for the “good popcorn”.. Sometimes I feel crazy.

This morning I woke up to falling snow. Today is my day off so falling snow is a welcome surprise. I began the day by working on my emails and on my blog carnival. I started to get hungry so I went down stairs to the kitchen to hunt for something to eat.

“We have no bread so eggs and toast is not possible, we are out of my favorite cereal, I am not in the mood for oatmeal or cream of wheat…” and the same process of elimination goes on for a while.

Finally I decide I want to have popcorn for breakfast (I know it’s strange but so are my eating trends). I have my heart set on popcorn so I grab the first bag I see and throw it into the microwave. I stand there with my stomach grumbling while the popcorn pops…

Two minutes later the popcorn is done so I get a nice big bowl and I open up the popcorn… “Dang, this is the sucky popcorn!” The popcorn is sucky because it all fails to pop and the kernels are all small and hard. I assume the popcorn is generic or just plain old and that is why it sucks.

I throw the sucky popcorn to the birds and begin my hunt for the good popcorn. I know we have some good popcorn because I had some a few weeks back. We bought it from Sam’s Club in bulk and there is no way we ate all the popcorn.. So I am searching everywhere for the good popcorn as my stomach continues to remind me of it’s lack of breakfast.

After searching everywhere at least three times I try to call Nathan to see if he knows where the popcorn is, he doesn’t answer because he is working. I keep asking myself where the popcorn could possibly be and I slowly begin to get frustrated because I never find what I am looking for in our over crowded kitchen that lacks storage space.

I finally become angry about the disaster area that is our kitchen cabinets. Nothing is in logical order and nothing seems to stay in its original place because of the lack of order. Everything appears to be just thrown wherever there is room and this freaking drives me nuts!

When we moved into our current place we had people helping us move and unpack. Things were initially put in places we would not have necessarily put them but it was free help and we just wanted things unpacked so we didn’t worry about it.. I am convinced that this is how our cabinet catastrophe happened.

I am then overcome by the urge to take everything out of the cabinets and reorganize everything. So, I put on my Matchbox 20 CD, I get the stepladder and I begin tearing the things out of the cabinets. Restructuring the layout of all the crap we have in the cabinets takes place, my Matchbox 20 CD plays all the way thorough and in the end I still have not had anything to eat and the popcorn is STILL missing.

At 2pm I accept my defeat, grab anything I can find to eat and head to the computer to blog about it. I am now sitting here bloging with some chips n salsa, cheesy fish shaped crackers, vegetable juice and a pack of vanilla crème crackers..

Sometimes my motivation gets the best of me and I waste 3 hours ripping my kitchen apart and then putting it back together just to find the “good popcorn” I wanted for breakfast.

Sometimes I really feel crazy!
