Stop procrastinating!! Do it already!

Yes You Can!

Stop procrastinating!! Do it already!

“Dreams without action are just words… They are empty words. Words that can’t be trusted.

It’s only when we take action that we get what we dream of. Things get done when we do them.”

(Saw this @ Gurustu.com today and it got me thinking!)

I am writing a post about procrastination today because it is really present in my day to day life right now. My partner and I are about 10 months away from a pretty big life change (we will most likely be leaving the state for better job opportunities) and certain tasks (that are necessary in order for forward motion) are being put off for some reason.

This procrastination may be subconscious self sabotage, it may be due to fear of change or any number of other things.. I cannot figure it out and since the “certain tasks” are not in my hands. I feel like there is nothing I can do besides continuously remind him to keep moving forward..

Major life changes are very scary and it is only natural to avoid the unknown, I know this. However, I am also a firm believer in the idea that you can only grow so much in one place. Change is often necessary for progress and success. This is very true in our case. Moving beyond the state will present new possibilities for growth and career advancement for both of us. This is what we need and want.

I believe the key to success is being in the right place at the right time. If you don’t ever put yourself out there how will people notice you? You have to be willing to take risks, give it your all and really put yourself out there if you want good things to happen. Much of life is making your own breaks.

I have a story that taught me this lesson first hand, do you? I would be interested to read your stories that relate to this! Please post them as comments below!

  • I couldn’t have said it better myself 😉

Life changes can be very scary and very exciting at the same time. In order for the door of opportunity to open, our minds must open first.

Good luck with your new adventure. Let me know how it turns out for you.
