Useful tools for a committed blogger.

Are you a committed blogger? I remember someone referring to blog upkeep as “watering the blog” to keep it growing and healthy. This is a great way to put it! If you are not consistently publishing content and responding to comments you will loose readers! People who take the time to return to your blop after the first initial visit will become disappointed with the lack of content if you don’t regularly post, they will also feel ignored if you aren’t responding to their comments. Feeling disappointed in a blog usually means they don not return. There are many up and coming bloggers publishing the same content who will steal your readers simply by spending more time nurturing their blog than you do. The key to success is consistent commitment to your blog!

If you are a committed blogger you know that replying to your comments has a big effect on whether or not a visitor will return to your blog. Many “big time bloggers” are forgetting that your readers are why you are able to blog. Without readers writing is useless so appreciate your readers by replying to their comments or even better, visit their site and return the favor! Over at Fiddyp I learned about a helpful plugin that makes replying to your comments quicker and easier! The plugin is called Absolute Comments and it’s meant to make replying to comments a snap!

Another must have is ScribeFire! ScribeFire makes reasearching and writing blog posts a snap! You can write your blog post right there in the lower portion of your browser while browsing the net, finding references and other pages to link to. It’s my new best friend!

Do you have any favorite plugin or tools that make blogging easier for you? Share them with us if you have time, we can all use a recommendation sometimes!

    thanks for the link!
I must try scribefire, I used to use the blog addon for firefox by performancing.com which sort of does the same thing.

ahh, that makes sense. I really liked the drag and drop of formatted content the most. I tried using livewriter the other day but I was disappointed that it didn’t have an input field for wordpress 2.3 tags 🙁

  • You’re so right about the comments part. You have to let your readers know that you are paying attention! And keeping the posting up is a good point too. Although isn’t always easy!
