Animals & Pets Indoor cat pregnancy

37 weeks: Last weekend at home before I head to the Farm…

Today we had a good quickie shopping trip before N went off to work. We stopped by Walgreens to take advantage of a few really good deals.

Aquafresh Toothpaste was normally $2.29 each. With the store coupon found in their weekly circular ad they were marked down to $.99 each. We got 2 and also had a manufactures coupon for $.75 off which got the price per tube down to $.62 per 6.4oz tube.

Not bad! We only had one of the manufactures coupons, if we had 2 of the $.75 off coupons we would have been able to get them for $.24 each. That would be less than a pack of gum.

We were also on the hunt for Dawn dish soap. A 10.3oz bottle was going for $1.99 but with the store coupon they too were marked down to $.99 each and we had 3 manufactures coupons for $.50 off each bottle. We got each one for $.49.

We needed the toothpaste and dish soap already since we were almost out, plus we also needed some for me to take to The Farm so the great deals were a nice score for us.

I got really a strange bout of stomach flu symptoms on the way home and was feeling pretty bad most of the day. I tried to nap and take it easy but Gabby our youngest cat is in heat and causing lots of drama around here.

First off she is yowling like mad. It is pretty annoying but that is not the worst of her behavior issues right now. The real problem is her pissing everywhere. Thursday morning when I woke at 6am and was unable to go back to sleep I went to the living room to do some computer stuff while N slept.

Right there in front of me Gabby peed on the wall and carpet (actually it was more like she “sprayed”). I freaked, locked her in the bathroom and cleaned the spot immediately. Later that day I was doing laundry and noticed fresh cat pee in the pack n play and freaked again, cleaned it and took the pack n play down. Then she peed right on the top of the canvas suitcase I was packing and that was the last straw for me.

We’ve temporarily relocated her to our garage to wait out her “heat” and pissing. I would love to take her in to be fixed but we can’t afford it until after Tater is born. Every cent we have coming to us is budgeted for bills and the home birth.

Oh, I wanted to share this adorable gift I received from Sara, a friend and fellow business owner. I am wearing the necklace now and will continue to until Tater makes her arrival. If you click the image you’ll be taken to HERinspiration.com

It is supposed to be a sunny nice weekend here. It is the last weekend I’ll have here at home before I head off to The Farm, it’s my last weekend at home before motherhood. Got no real plans, just cleaning, nesting, gardening, cleaning cat pee… You know grownup stuff that doesn’t require spending money. LOL.

  1. Maybe I am just cruel hearted, but I would so be getting rid of a pissing cat.

I am so glad you are on your way to the farm soon! It is getting really close to time, and I have been worried you wouldn’t get there in time!

Love the necklace, it is too cute.

  2. Wow…last weekend at home as a mom-to-be! Sorry about the cat. When I was at the end of my pregnancy with Seth, our cat started peeing all over anything and everything. When I was in the hospital, I wrapped Seth up in a certain blanket and at night Travis would take it home for the cat to smell. When we brought the baby home, we had no more kitty troubles.

Enjoy your last few days at home and just relax 🙂

    B) I can’t believe you’re going to the Farm! What are your final plans for internet updating?

    C) That necklace made me a lil weepy (I just finished watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, so am feeling especially sentimental)- good job Sara!

I can’t wait until you get to The Farm so I can stop worrying about you going into labor early!! (nothing like being self-centered, eh?)

  5. Hi, I stumbled across your blog while searching for Farm info. My husband & I visited in March & are visiting again in July. I’m 14 weeks pregnant and we’re hoping to give birth there, too! Have a wonderful birthing and I will look forward to hearing the story (if you don’t mind me reading)!
