It is snowing again, in MAY! Is it global warming?

Here is the forecast for today from

This Afternoon: Periods of snow. Some thunder is also possible. High near 43. South southwest wind between 9 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Southwest wind between 7 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

And this is what it looks like in my tulip garden:

The tulips can withstand some snow but I am worried about the zucchini, tomatoes, snap peas and other stuff in the vegetable garden… How is the weather in your area, is it just a screwy?

  • As yucky as the snow may be, your tulips look beautiful in those pictures! I have to admit that for May in Wisconsin, the weather has been rather nice lately. of course, now that I said that out loud it will turn yucky rather quickly:)

  • Here, in LouCeeL land (in and around Chicago) it is cool. 20 to 25 degrees F cooler than normal. It is very unusual to be wearing light jackets in May around here, but there you are. I do believe, however, that Mother Nature still isn’t done playing around with us, here in Chicagoland. I believe this summer is really. going. to. be. hot.
