Fleas make me a crazy lady!

In an attempt to tackle the flea population we bought everyone a flea collar and we spent the weekend bathing our pets. We have the flea carpet powder, the dog has been treated with those flea drops and now we have introduced the flea shampoo and the flea collars. If the flea aren't gone after this I'll be surprised. Fleas are nasty, nasty creatures. If you can't tell the kind of make me crazy. It is all because of this one encounter N and I shared way back in the day. Right after we began dating N moved in to my tiny 1 bedroom apartment with me. It was in Tempe, Arizona in the dead of summer and our fridge died so I went to the complex management about it. They wouldn't...

Crazy weather makes my animals crazy!

Just so you know, it is currently snowing, hailing and raining in spurts here and is supposed to continue through the weekend. It is only 6am, let me sleep!

My cats are so annoying sometimes, Mr. guy especially! He is a control freak and will have litle temper tantrums if life does not follow the routine HE is used to. N did not come home last night, that is a routine disruption. N usually gets up at about 6 or 7 am everyday and I will get up around 8 am. this morning Mr. guy proceeded to paw at me, pull the covers off of me and he even tried to weasel his way under the covers so he could scratch me. It was 6am, nobody was awake so he took it upon himself to try every trick in the book to wake me. Pawing at the blinds to make noise, touching me with his wet/ cold nose, jumping on my...

Enjoying holiday gifts and the miracles of life..

On December 26th we headed into town to pick up some accessories for our new goodies and we needed to exchange a gift I got N, he needed a smaller size belt.. While exchanging the belt we found him 3 pairs of pants that were each under $10.00 and I got about 6 shirts that were under $5.00. The after Christmas sales were awesome! With my new camcorder I made a video of our 3 baby finches. Witnessing the miracle of life unfold in our own home has been great! They are all flying now, mom and dad are still feeding them and I captured feeding time on video for you to enjoy! We are off to go see Enchanted in the theater today. Enjoy the finch video and have a good...

Updates on our mating finches, websites and more…

A while back I posted about how our finches were trying to hatch the eggs they laid my female finch (the hen) started laying eggs about three weeks ago and the incubation period for those eggs is up at the end of this week. Sadly I discovered that they rolled two of the three eggs out of the nest, the eggs cracked and they ate the yolks (the eggs weren't developed). I found the partially eaten egg shells in the bottom tray of the cage. However, their is still one egg in the nest that looks as though it has developed and we are expecting it to hatch this week. You can see darkness through the egg shell! I visually check the nest each day to see the progress...
