Got some plants on the way and some animal drama for my birthday.

Today has started off with a bang! For starters it is my birthday. I am feeling better than yesterday, thank goodness and I know I'll feel even better tomorrow when we go to see Pamela at The Farm. I am still having fun entering all sorts of giveaways to try winning some of the things we need for Tater, you can enter too. See this post for more details. N was so cute, he made a little scavenger hunt of gardening goodies for me to find for my birthday. You see all I wanted was plants and bulbs for my birthday so he ordered them. Unfortunately growers will only ship after your latest frost date so I wont actually have the plants and bulbs until April, which was expected. Still he wanted to...

Time flies… When it Rains, it pours… We have some more news too!

Is it strange that vacuuming was enjoyable for me this last week? I got a wild hair and was having a good ole time with our vintage Filter Queen vacuum. It might have been the warmer weather that got me all motivated or perhaps it's the prospects of getting out of this place and in to the home we just looked at. Either way, I was cleaning and even packing stuff up. Woho for motivation! The last few weeks have been filled with all sorts of crapola and it's made us grumpy at times but we are glad to have gotten so much accomplished. Here is a recap complete with links in case you missed something or a bored and want to read our drama. We got our taxes filed and our...

Can salmon and halibut crossbreed?

Seriously, can they? I had a piece of fish the other night that was sold to me as salmon but I would have bet money that something fishy (I know cheesy huh, thanks N your cheeky humor is rubbing off on me) was up with it, it was like a salmon and halibut fillet. For starters this fish fillet wasn't super pink like a salmon fillet is normally, it was more white than pink. Then there was the texture of it, way to fluffy and light for salmon! It sort of tasted like salmon but not really. Now I am positive a salmon freakishly mated with a halibut and the result was the mutant fish fillets we consumed. So I did what any blogger would do, I opened a new tab and...

Weekly Winners January 12th- 18th

Here is this weeks Weekly Winners post, as with last week all photos were captured using my new Kodak Cd-1013 Digital Camera. Here is Alexandria-Maybelle, the bunny. We have had her since way before the move to Evansville. We ended up buying her at the feed and tack store one spring while my mom was visiting us in Flagstaff. We had a bunny, Baby Bunny, prior to Alexandria-Maybelle but because of living situations (the landlord forced us to remove our unauthorized pets from the rental) we had to send her and the cats down to The Ranch to live with my mom for a few months. Anyway Baby Bunny died (from eating apple core and seed we suspect) and we went several months, almost a year, without a bunny in the home....

Video of all the pets

Here is a video I put together of a day in our house, with all our pets. I didn't video the birds or fish but all the other pets were included. Enjoy! I was going to embed the video in the post but it messes up my whole blog display when I do, so if you want to view it click this link. They all get along for the most part and are able to coexist in our cozy home. They are like our kids, can you tell?...

Don't pour bleach on bunny pee! (or any pee for that matter)

Ugh, my nose is burning and it's cause I had a temporary moment of stupidity. We are moving in 15 days and I have an ongoing list of crap to accomplish. Today it was sweeping/ cleaning the wood floors and cleaning bunny's cage/ mess. Oh and I was supposed to find the Nissian repair book so we can see how to remove the alternator from the car. I didn't get around to taking care of bunny till after dinner. I made meatloaf for the first time tonight and it turned out good, then I was unusually tired and achy so I procrastinated some more and watched TV. When N headed back to work I forced myself to take care of bunny's mess before I took a bath. We put "potty pads" down...
