Late pregnancy, early labor symptoms. Blunt and graphic talk ;-)

Yep, you guessed it I am doing some more pregnancy TMI posting! If this is not your cup of tea or if you are having breakfast or whatever feel free to skip the post. I'll understand. Today I am 38 weeks pregnant and last night was the first night I've been in actual pain with regards to contractions. You know that cervical pain I've been mentioning? Well I've now decided it feels like Tater is poking or clawing at the cervix and that I'll pop and gush water at any moment as a result, lol. I know it is kind of a strange way to describe it all and technically Tater isn't touching my cervix since my bag of water/ membranes are separating her from the actual cervix right now. She isn't...

6 weeks until the baby wait begins…

In 6 short weeks I'll be taking a blog hiatus and enjoying the forest settings at The Farm while I wait for Tater to join us. Can you believe that? 6 weeks! I am feeling pretty good about it all and am still totally ready and excited! If you missed the update on my latest OBGYN appointment from yesterday you can read about it here. Some of you already know, we went thrift store rummaging for baby clothes as did Maiden53 (who is a doll for thinking of us) and we've also received some new clothes from N's family and from my grandparents for Tater. This means we have about 30 outfits in varying sizes and styles ranging from 0-24 months! I succeeded in getting them all laundered at the moldy rental...

Purring Cats on Pregnant Bellies… 24 week pregnancy thoughts

Well yesterday was the beginning of my 24th week of pregnancy. Other than the belly button pain and the occasional rib cage or back pain all is well. The bump is growing but I was surprised to see that I didn't gain much weight over the month. I've got a prenatal appointment with the OBGYN next week and I am sure she'll make a comment about the lack of weight gain this month but N and I aren't worried. According to all our reading Tater is just starting another growth spurt so I'll probably pack on several more pounds shortly. It seems my weight gain is not really a gradual thing, I pack on a good amount one month which puts me over what is deemed normal then the next month I...

23 weeks pregnant: baby kicks and stormy warm nights…

Yesterday was the beginning of my 23rd week of pregnancy. I must say this whole thing is just kind of flying right by, it is kind of scary how fast it's going! I thought it would be cool to try recording some of Tater's movements so I can show her once she is older. I captured a few short/ good videos of her. You can see them here and here. Last night we had thunderstorms, which N and I both love very much. We had windows open enjoying the fresh cool breeze and we loved hearing the rain/ thunder. Unfortunately the pets decided the weather was their cue to act completely insane all night. Once N and I finished watching our recorded episode of American Idol at around 2am we went to bed...

Critters are everywhere! What is that in our wall?

You know we always have crazy eventful times with animals around here right? I mean all of our pets come to us by some sort of fate. They dart in our front door or are starving in a hole by the sidewalk when we walk by. We are suckers, we just can't walk by and leave them be dealt with by someone else. We feel all guilty and bad...

Trying to get good at the new Wii is hard!

For those of us old school video game children getting used to the newest and greatest video game systems is hard stuff. On Christmas night after N got off work we sat down and started playing the new Wii for the first time. Actually, N got to play Wii at a holiday party earlier this month so he had some more experience than me. The bowling game was easy to pick up on for me but the pool game was hard stuff! Literally it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to hit the cue ball! N was laughing his butt off the whole time and I was getting super frustrated. The Wii is tons of fun! We haven't busted out the Wii Fit yet, we'll have tons to keep us...

Mothers day weekend – part 2, snakes, oh my!

Several years back we got my mom these two chicks. They were a mothers day/ birthday gift (her birthday is very close to mothers day) and she was so surprised. Turns out we got her silkies (a specific breed of chicken), a male and female. Years later she has a whole bunch of chickens. Her silkies mated and reproduced, some died, new chickens were introduced, the mated and reproduced. She has quite the flock going. Problem is she has too many roosters. A rooster need to have about 10 hens to himself and multiple roosters in a small space with limited hens means fighting over mates or overly abusing the few mating hens. My mom is facing the "too many roosters" issue right now. She lives in a community called New River...

A day in the life of my pants! LOL

Lets see, my favorite pair of pants is my new black pair of Capri workout pants, they say "Guard" on the pant leg. I love these because they are comfortable and because they are durable. What would a day be like for my pants? Hm, it would be hard I think. I wake up in the morning, have some coffee and then I spend about 30 minutes sitting in the car (dropping N off at work in town and driving back home). Once I get home I have some breakfast, sit on the couch and work on the computer for about an hour. So for my pants that basically means lots of sitting. I head back into town to teach at about 10:30am, when I get to the school I dance my...

Video of all the pets

Here is a video I put together of a day in our house, with all our pets. I didn't video the birds or fish but all the other pets were included. Enjoy! I was going to embed the video in the post but it messes up my whole blog display when I do, so if you want to view it click this link. They all get along for the most part and are able to coexist in our cozy home. They are like our kids, can you tell?...

Crazy weather makes for chilly times….

Yesterday it rained, all day and changed to snow last night.. It's been snowing since then and this type of weather just make me want to sit and relax. Stormy weather makes me want to relax and to have "me time". I am eating top ramen and the fire is going while I am sitting here in the couch with my laptop. The only down side to the weather is that our heating bill is going to be even worse now! By the way I think my cat was oriental in a previous life because he is just crazy about noodles! He is sitting here trying to steal noodles as I eat my ramen...

Laughter can be the best medicine…

I was browsing Bix this morning checking the status of my contest entries and I found the funniest video: [youtube 5P6UU6m3cqk Greatest baby laugh] This baby just has the best laugh, it made me laugh and it got me to thinking about how important it is to have a good laugh. It really can improve your mood and outlook. So today I am sharing some things that will make you laugh and possibly brighten your day. The first one is a blog entry on sharting by witchypoo. I read her blog daily and had the best laugh yesterday when I read her post. I didn't shart but I sure snorted.. Snorting just makes me laugh harder and longer, today my laugh muscles are sore! Read the post, you will laugh. The next thing...

Shameless self promotion…

I have never won anything except in raffles that were held at drunken work parties where you ended up winning an extra large logo work shirt that you knew you would never wear. I stand corrected! Several hours later I won the Teeni's Tiny Shameless Plug Award! Woho!! So I won a web award and now I could still use your votes for the videos I made for various contests...

Help me win a MacBook!

I could really use my readers support today! I made a video for a contest by Packet8/ Mobile Talk, you can view the video in my earlier blog post. I really need support in the polls for the contest, if you visit the contest page you can vote for my video and help me win either a MacBook, and Apple Iphone, an Ipod or a $20 Starbucks gift card! I am really hoping to win something in this contest, our video is creative, entertaining and also informative! We just went out in the neighborhood and got as much video footage as we could, then I spliced it into a video and narrated it (I hate my voice). Our video portrays a tourist who ended up somewhere unexpected, in the snow covered forest....

Amaryllis time lapse video

Well, I did it! I finished my amaryllis bulb time lapse video. I actually wanted to make the video to show people how awesome bulbs are. It's not the best video ever but it's pretty good for my first time lapse attempt! I was taking photos for about 4 days.. Getting the lighting and background just right and keeping it that way was hard but it turned out alright! Tonight I had the most fun putting the slides to the music. I used Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers for the background music (hope that is not bad)...
